dedicated to Richard Avedon, the man who single handedly made me want to be a photographer when I grow up.

A little bit of him, with a little bit of me.

Rest in peace, Mr. Avedon.

I think these are (this is an...?) amazing shot(s) - well done!
I think the black&white totally makes the piece.

I have no idea what you're try to say here, but I guess you just don't 'get' this one either. If you don't like naked men, you don't have to look at my gallery ... at all.

it's not naked men. it's naked men and women i don't really understand the concept of. anyone can get naked and make the lighting a certain way and snap a bunch of photos, but i don't see that as art; i see it as softcore porn. i'm not trying to change your mind or the way you do things or belittle you; i guess it's just my opinion.

I think that's an interesting point of view to have ... however I find it even more interesting that you would single out two of the very few nudes that I have in my gallery ... they do make up less than 10% of the work there, yet you are not the first person to see that, and somehow amplify that in your mind. Does that mean that you don't appreciate any of the other work that I've done? (I'm not being an ass, I'm genuinely curious).

Anyway, for me, shooting people and shooting the figure is something that I do because I'm really passionate about it, and not neccessarily in a sexual way. It is the same way in which I cannot understan why someone would choose to photograph a flower, or a bunch of trees, because that's not something that I even remotely care about. However, I will say that because there are SO MANY CRAPPY photos out there of people's naked bodies that have been classified "art", that it makes it really difficult for someone like me to pursue the subject with out a pre-established prejudice.

Anyway, I'm sorry if you're tired of this subject ... I guess I just find it interesting.

Your other pieces are fine, I singled out the nudes because I simply thought they were distasteful. Just one persons opinion. You know not all comments are going to be encouraging, if you thought that then I feel sorry for you. Perhaps DeviantART isn't a good place to upload your works.

I should apologize ... I didn't want it to seem like I was offended by your comment ... I was, in fact, quite intrigued by it. I just thought that we had a dialogue going so that I could learn why you didn't like it, so maybe I could make my work better.

So if you took offence, I sincerely apologize. It was not my intention.

Of course ... I'm shooting a lot more on 4x5 ... I'm just too lazy to develop most of them, though.

Thanks for commenting.
